Athens Restaurant in Safety Harbor

Fantastic little shop in Safety Harbor. Service was quick and friendly, felt like a part od the family! If in town, I will definitely stop by again for breakfast.

Old school Florida charm. The menu is basic Americana and the food is quite good. The waitresses are very nice and love to chat. While clean & well kept, I don't think the place has been renovated since 1970! Like I said, "old school Florida charm". Safety Harbor at its finest.

My wife and I just moved to the area and I was craving a gyro. Athens did not disappoint. Thanks

After reading many reviews about friendly service and great food decided to give it a try. In my opinion the food was OK. Being a Greek influenced restaurant I expected great gyro omelettes. What I received was an ordinary breakfast with barely any gyro meat. The service was prompt and friendly when taking the order but two steps from table all I could hear was complaining. The over all tone was a mood kill with most of the waitresses sour faced and complaining to one another.

Athens is always great for breakfast. The biscuits and gravy is some of the best I have had and my fried egg was perfectly done for sunny side up. Their other items are also good.

The breakfast here is good. It is much better than Paradise Restaurant also on the main drag. I would eat here for breakfast anytime.

Reminded me of the 50's dinner. Great food and fast service. The Phillie cheese steak is fantastic. If you are in the area it is a must stop and enjoy good food.

For a small restaurant and not too busy w orders....it took an extremely long time to receive our food. Our order was taken After two parties that were seated after us were seated and their orders taken. Not a good 1st experience for a place I went to for the great reviews. When my first round of coffee was empty and placed at the end of the table for a refill , the server that was going around with the coffee pot did not even look our way. I am a former server and am trying to figure out what the issue was. Kitchen, server, I couldn't figure it out. Ordered pecan and banana pancake and only got pecan pancakes. I wasnt going to ask for the correct order because I was afraid it would take too long as our order took longer than it should to be served. The pecan pancakes were delicious however. Staff were nice when we were approached which was too far and in between.

A family owned restaurant with a talented wait staff offering a great selection of food entrees. My entrees were very tasteful and nutritious. A great place to eat. Get there before closing time 2:30pm.

Haven't been in awhile. The only breakfast I ever had was the French toast. Order it over and over again because it is scrumptious. Have taken family members and they love the French Toast as well. I personally know the owner Rhea. She is very friendly, the service is quick. Suggest visitors to Safety Harbor try Athens and they won't be disappointed.
